» Provisions of the Kiram-Bates Agreement
- The Americans would not interfere to the religious and domestic affairs of the Moros.
- The right and dignity of the sultan and other Dates shall be fully respected
- The Americans would pay monthly salary to the Sultans with 250 pesos and to the other datus with 15 pesos.
- The Americans would give full protection to the Sultan and his subject in case of foreign attack.
- The Sultan and other datus would cooperate with the Americans in suppressing piracy.
- The slaves in Sulu shall have right to buy and purchase their freedom by paying their master the usual market value.
- American sovereignty in Sulu would be acknowledged.
